Google Analytics will soon be Displaying Google Images Data
Google has announced that it is introducing a new line item for Google Images Data in the 'Referral' report in Google Analytics. Marketers would be able to see traffic which is coming from ‘google images' separately as opposed to all referral data from Google organic search grouped together. This will lead to website owners noticing a drop in the traffic coming from Google's organic search.
However, users should be aware that the actual traffic coming from Google is not dropping, it's just that the traffic from Google Images would be shown separately. Google images data would appear along with the Google search data under sources of referral traffic in the ‘Acquisition’ reports, as a new line item.
Google is changing its Google Images Referral to enable this isolation and the company has informed that this would allow Google Images Data to be tracked in Analytics. These new changes in referral reports would automatically reflect in all Google Analytics accounts. Users do not have to make any changes to see this Google Images referral report.
Only users who have special filters or custom channel groupings set need to make changes on their own to see these new referral reporting features in their Google Analytics.
