Google have disabled Screenwise Meter App that Collected User Data on iOS
Google seems to have recently disabled Screenwise Meter App. The Meter App used an Enterprise Certificate to reward users with gift cards to install a VPN app which was responsible for collecting extensive data. Google has now apologized and has disabled the app.
Similar to Facebook Research app, Google app has also used an Enterprise Certificate. This certificate indicates that an app is meant for use within a company and is not for the public.
The app seems to be still there on the Google App store. As per Google, they have now disabled the app on iOS devices. This app was meant for users who are aged from 18 and above.
