Amazon to soon Share Payment Data with Government

Amazon is all set to share the payment data of users to the government. As stated in its privacy policy which is listed on the company’s platform the date will be shared only when required.

The information will be shared with the government for concerns relating to verification of identity, or investigations including cyber incidents, and punishment of offences. Some of the customers personal data would include sensitive data which Amazon might share with the government if the user has availed the services locally.

As of now Amazon does not have any such setup. Amazon has mentioned that compliance with local laws and regulation is their top most priority. It is also seen that India is drafting its own policy bill with respect to user data safety.
