A recent news relating to an online grocery delivery start up DailyNinja says that Saama Capital has recently funded the start up with $3 million. The company also said that it plans to make use of this funding in the expansion of its business which is based in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Gurgaon.
Earlier too DailyNinja was funded with approximately $1.5 million by Sequoia. With the current funding we will be able to achieve our target of reaching 1,00,00 deliveries by the end of the next 12 months.
The company has received several seed funds too through prominent angel investors namely Kunal Shah and Sandeep Tandon of freecharge, Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com and many others.
This start-up was basically the idea of two graduates namely Sagar Yarnalkar and Anurag Gupta way back in September 2015. Their entire start-up operates on a subscription based model and their main delivery items include milk, bread, eggs, curd, cottage cheese and other essential groceries at the doorsteps of consumers.
The start-up was the first among many others that has caught the investors attention in a couple of months. It was also found that Swiggy and Bigbasket are also eyeing on the micro-delivery segment as it quite essentially found to be the need of the hour.
Also reports are doing the rounds that Bigbasket plans to invest in DailyNinja and Milkbasket.
