Google Pay made Changes in its Privacy Policy After Paytms Complaint
Google Pay has recently tweaked its Privacy Policy after Paytm has raised a complaint regarding the same. Paytm has sent a complaint to the National Payments corporation of India (NPCI) via letter. The government have developed a new data protection law in which companies might be forced to change how they transfer or store customer data.
As per Google's Privacy Policy it claims that it can collect, store and use and /or disclose personal data. When the privacy policy was reviewed by Reuters it found out that the word "disclosed" had been dropped. Google Pay responded claiming that it was done to make it easier for customers to understand the data usage policy.
Google Pay also declined that these were made due to Paytm's complaint. Paytm's move of raising complaint might be due to the increasing competition in India's digital payment market. Both the apps offer payment services using NPCI's UPI (Unified Payments Interface) system.
