New Google Snippet Panel saves You more Clicks
Google is introducing a new panel to show additional 'snippets' in the results of a searched query. Usually, when a person is searching, the most relevant image and text to the query appears on top of other search results, which is decided by Google's algorithm. Now with this new format of snippets, one could see additional subtopics related to the query which saves having to search for them separately.
It will save the user multiple clicks which is Google's primary motive to enhance a user's experience. For eg, if you search “Quartz Vs. Granite” on your mobile device you can see the most relevant website and images, and below that there are new subtopics displayed like cost, benefits, weight and durability. These topics are most relevant to the first query according to Google's algorithm. However, these new panels are not limited to "Versus" queries, they apply to other queries as well.
As of now, users report seeing these new panels only on mobile devices and not on desktop devices. Similarly, users could only see these new panels for some specific queries. Google plans to roll out this feature in the coming days.
These new features are part of Google's effort to make search results more comprehensive and useful to users queries.
