3 LinkedIn Hacks that will Help you Succeed
The following article is a list of hacks you can use to increase your chances of getting the job/internship on LinkedIn.
If you have listed your LinkedIn profile but still are not getting as many responses as you had expected, the reasons may be not knowing how to properly navigate the website or less focus on its capabilities.
These hacks were prepared under the guidance of Christine Huber, LinkedIn’s all-time expert.
1.) Hack your Profile (display picture, background, headline, and summary)
To show employers how legitimate and credible you are, brand yourself, advertise yourself. You can easily do this by using the same pictures and graphics in the sense use what you’ve used on your website (if you have one). Also, ensure your website is current and not of the medieval times. People should be able to recognize you when they meet you and feel like they already know you. The summary on your LinkedIn profile should engage the target audience as in you providing solutions to their problems.2.) Hack your Messages:
As trendy as automated messages are, sometimes they look spammy and not personal. Have you ever appreciated such an email? This is also one of the major causes as to why so many accounted are being locked, blocked and shut down. It is always better to have an authentic system that creates conversations, sets the welcoming, supremely friendly tone, etc. Leverage notifications for birthdays, work anniversaries, new positions and promotions to stay in front of your ideal clients and again drive the conversation forward.3.) Hack Linkedin to Close Business:
There are three ways to seal the deal depending on the nature of your business -- Drive to a Phone Conversation. The easiest way is to ask when it’s clear from their answers that it would make sense, or your reply would be more valuable in a longer format. In the context of LinkedIn, it’s also logical.
- Close by Driving to your Email list to receive your updates. Maybe they aren’t at the point where a phone call makes sense, but they want to be notified of where you’re speaking next, webinars you’re doing, etc.
- Ask for Referrals. This is extremely easy when you give first: "Whom can I refer to you?”. For an additional income stream, ask if they have a referral program. They should come back with the same question. You never know who someone knows and so many of us don’t feel comfortable or don’t ask for referrals.
