Google to Scrap AI Ethics Council

Google have decided to scrap AI Ethics Council. This decision has come after employees have called for the removal of a rightwing think tank leader from the council.

Around more than 2000 Google workers seems to have signed a petition which has criticized the company's selection of an anti-LGBT advocate. This move came after it announced that one of the eight council members was Kay Coles James.

He is said to be the president of the Heritage Foundation. He has a history of fighting against trans rights and LGBT protections. The remaining seven members include computer science, and mathematics experts, a privacy researcher, a drone company chief executive and a former US diplomat.
