Google using AI for assisting New York Times in Digitising Historic Photos
Google is using Artificial Intelligence to assist the New York Times for the purpose of digitising around 5 million historical photos. These photos seem to be lying for many years in the office.
There are many photos which date back to the 19th century. These photos are said to be a priceless treasure for both the times as well as for the world. The photos depict transformation of the old times to the modern world.
For the purpose of digitising, Google is now using the technology of artificial intelligence in order to scan the hand and type notes on the picture and also categorising the images.
By helping the New York Times transform its photo archive, Google will also accomplish its mission of organising the world's information and making it universally accessible and useful. The images however will not be accessible to the public.
