Xiaomi India has recently shifted local users data to local AWS and Azure clouds. The company will soon migrate the data of its Indian customers to cloud service providers. Read more at sharpreports.com
The main aim of this move is to alleviate security concerns with respect to data storage and security. All the data from Xiaomi platforms like MI ECommerce platform, Mi cloud and Mi TV will be shifted to Indian clouds. One of the added advantages of this migration is to increase up the access speeds enabling customers to access the data stored on the cloud at a quicker speed.
Initially the data was stored in AWS servers across USA and Singapore. The sudden decision to shift data to local AWS was made after an inquiry last year by the Indian government in order to understand the security measures in place in order to safeguard user data.
