Flipkart Launches 2GUD For Refurbished Goods
Flipkart has ended its year-old strategic partnership with eBay to launch its own refurbished portal called 2GUD. It has shut down eBay.in and launched 2GUD which will initially sell refurbished smartphones, laptops, tablets, and electronic accessories. With 2GUD, Flipkart plans to target a different market than eBay by providing a value proposition of “affordability, accessibility and availability".
The company will address the issue of trust and convenience that usually arise about the refurbished industry. 2GUD will offer quality assurance for a wide variety of products, with 2-12 months of warranty for each product and the prices with be 50-80% of the new price. However, the best feature is that the portal will not have the hassle of buyer-seller interactions.
It would be launched on mobile web and later as a desktop and mobile app. With 2GUD, the company plans to organize the highly fragmented refurbished market of goods and simplify the transactions between customers. 2GUD will be targeted at value buyers so that Flipkart can acquire a different market segment and strengthen its market position.
