Facebook has been Investigating a Group backed by LinkedIn Co-Founder

Facebook is said to be investigating a group which seems to be backed by LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. The main concern for this investigation is to find out whether the group ran afoul of the social networks's rules after it led to misleading news pages.

The group News for Democracy had purchased around 14 Facebook pages and had purchased political ads during the election. Facebook is said to have certain rules against misrepresenting yourself which includes misleading people about a content's origins.

As of now Facebook is still carrying out the investigation. Some of the ads which this group supports include Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke who is a Democrat from Texas. Earlier also Hoffman has apologised for unknowingly backing a group that used similar tactics to spread disinformation.
