Instagram using ML to detect Bullying on its Platform

Instagram has recently stated in its blog that is it currently focusing on a new ML technology in order to detect bullying in photos and captions. The new technology will be rolled out in stages.

The main reason for this new technology is to make Instagram a safe place for the purpose of self-expression and also to foster kindness within the community. It has also introduced a bullying comment filter in order to proactively detect and hide the bullying comments from one's feed, explore and profile tabs.

The filter is now being taken forward by developers to the comments section on live videos.
