Overall Poll Campaigns in India included only 1% of Facebook and Google Ads

When it comes to spending on online advertisements, India seems to be far behind US and UK . The recent polls saw the political parties to spend not more than 1% on Facebook and Google advertisements.

It was found that Indian political parties have spend roughly Rs. 60,000 crore or $8.7 billion which amounts to not more than 1% in spends.

United Kingdom on the other hand was seen to have spent Rs. 27 core on Facebook and Rs. 8 crore on Google in the year 2017.

Over the years, the inclusion of proxies has made it more difficult to track spending in the digital world. Therefore, there is a need to better utilize the presence of social media.
