Apple to Buy Intel Smartphone Modem Business

Apple seems to be trying to make a mark in the smartphone modem business. It is in talks to buy a part of Intel's smartphone modem business.

This move by Apple is mainly focused on manufacturing its own chips rather than depending on third-party suppliers. Intel's German smartphone modem business of said to be one of the strongest as of today.

Apple has earlier dropped the idea to partner with Intel however Apple now seems to have hired some of the former Intel executives.
