Google to Rename Tez as Pay

Google is set to rename Tez as Pay and is also about to bring UPI payments to its Play Store. Google made a big bang entry through Tez and is now all set to rename the same and consolidate into a single global payment umbrella.

Pali Bhat, Vice-president of product management at Google added that Google is also about to get Google Wallet and Android Pay under the umbrella of Google Pay. UPI too can be added as a mode of payment if Tez gets integrated with Google Pay.

India is said to be one of the largest and the biggest market when it comes to app downloads for Google, because there is a dominance of Android smartphones in the Indian market. It is said that India is ranked at number 29th when it comes to revenue generation from the sale of mobile apps on both Android and iOS as on the month of April.

Tez app was launched by our finance minister Arun Jaitley in the month of September last year and has already crossed about more than 50 million downloads.
