Twitter is currently under investigation for the purpose of data collection through its link-shortening system. The investigation is regarding concerns about how much data gets collected through its t.co link-shortening tool.
The main aim of the Irish privacy regulator is related to the amount of data Twitter is able to collect through the service. Twitter was asked to provide information regarding what sort of data was collected by the company.
Twitter, however, refused to hand over the data it recorded. Since twitter failed to hand over the data Veale, lodged a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission.
