Twitter launches Special Gandhi Emoji on the 150th Birthday of Bapu
Twitter has recently launched a special 'Gandhi emoji' in order to celebrate Bapu's Birthday. In order to see the emoji appearing you need to use the following hashtag #GandhiJayanti, #MahatmaGandhi, #MKGandhi, #BapuAt150, #MyGandhigiri, #NexusOfGood, and #MahatmaAt150.
The emoji will go live on the 2nd of October and will remain active throughout the week. Twitter has always introduced emojis on specific events. Earlier, too it has celebrated festivals including Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Independence Day, Republic Day, International Yoga and Ambedkar Jayanti by introducing customised emojis.
2nd October is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti across the country. Mahatma Gandhi is fondly called as "Bapu" by everyone. In United Nations, 2nd October is celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence in order to honour Gandhi's beliefs in peace and non-violence.
