TikTok runs a dedicated Shopping Feed Test with Users in Indonesia

TikTok is running a test with the users in Indonesia.

  • In the recent test, users in Indonesia will get access to a new Shop tab in the app, which is placed alongside For You and Following Feeds.
  • It also features a shopping cart icon in the top right, where you can add items to purchase as you scroll.
TikTok seems to be following the same direction as followed by ByteDance for the Chinese version of the app, called Douyin.
  • It plans to integrate the same into its offering, which could help it stand against Instagram and YouTube on creator monetization.
Moreover, it is working to integrate its full suite of commerce tools, from payment options to integrations with Shopify.
