Google, Facebook, WhatsApp have agreed with Centre to stamp out Rape and Child Porn Videos
Recently, it has been found that Google, Facebook and WhatsApp along with the Centre have agreed to stamp out the dreaded thing called Rape and also child porn videos. They have all agreed that objectionable material needs to be stamped out from the internet.
It is claimed that each different entity has a different reaction to this situation. Google and YouTube seem to have the same reaction. However, Facebook, Microsoft and WhatsApp seem to have a different reaction.
The draft SoP will be filed in the apex court on the 10th of December and the copies will be submitted to the counsel appearing for the Centre, petitioner and the lawyer. It was highlighted by the Centre to deploy trusted flagers for the purpose of identifying and deletion of unlawful content and setting up of 24x7 mechanism for the purpose of delaying with requisitions of law enforcement agencies.
An idea of maintaining a national sex offenders register containing details of persons convicted for offences like eve-teasing, stalking and molestation was also highlighted by the NGO's letter.
