WhatsApp partners with an NGO to hold Workshops related to Fake News

WhatsApp has recently partnered with an NGO in order to hold workshops related to fake news. It has partnered with Digital Empowerment Foundation for the purpose of holding workshops.

Since quite sometime it was seen that the government is constantly questioning WhatsApp's role in lynching across the country. WhatsApp responded to this saying that it is seen working with civil society for addressing fake news concerns.

Election Efforts and NGO Workshops

WhatsApp added further that it is also planning to conduct digital literacy workshops with NGO'S. This will be basically done to educate users regarding the threat of misinformation. These sessions will be conducted in 150 different parts of the country.
