YouTube App gets Swiping Gesture for Skipping Videos
YouTube mobile apps now gets a new swiping gesture for the purpose of skipping ads. The update has come out for both Android and iOS. Users will be able to swipe on the screen in order to quickly jump forward or backward to different videos.
As of now YouTube has around a billion users and among those around 70% of users watch videos on the mobile device. Over the past few years, YouTube's mobile apps have received a number of big features which includes new baked in messaging and sharing feature, a dark mode, Stories featureĀ and many more.
Now it can be seen that YouTube has slowly introduced gesture-based control via double tapping to skip forward or backward through a small part of a video. With the new update, users can swipe left on the video screen so as to immediately start the next recommended video.
