1990's - In the year 1990, the term 'Digital Marketing' had come into existence. This was the year when the search engine 'Archie' came into existence along with popular search engines Yahoo and Google.
The 2000s - The year 2000 saw the rise in social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter. Gmail too came into existence during this period.
2010's - This period saw the arrival of Pinterest, Instagram ads, voice services, AI and machine learning.
Digital marketing today includes a lot of different factors like Pay-per-click, email marketing, affiliate marketing, online PR, etc. The future will evolve and will focus more on aspects like AI and machine learning.
