Japanese Government has Ordered Facebook to improve Data Protection
Japanese government has ordered Facebook to improve data protection of users' personal information following by a series of data theft incidents which includes the latest massive data breach.
This is said to be the first time that such a warning has been issued to the US social media giant. Facebook is required to give clear explanations regarding how the user information is handled, gain users content when it is necessary and also properly respond to users requests with regards to the deletion of their information.
The Japanese government is said to be a supervisory body which is responsible for the protection of personal information. It is entitled to issue orders and instructions to companies as well as other entities based on relevant laws.
