Facebook Releases New Update for Automated "Alt Text" Process, Featuring Detailed Insights

Facebook is bringing a lot of new updates to the platform. The social media giant has decided to bring in changes to its Automatic Alt Text (AAT) process. AAT will now be able to read more images on the platform, which will be helpful for vision-impaired users.

This update will ensure that Facebook is capable of providing detailed descriptions of objects present within the images. Over the years, the social media giant is working towards building different visual recognition tools.

Facebook made use of the data from Instagram images and hashtags to understand the content. With the new update, details given by Facebook will be more accurate.

Initially, a basic description of each image will be provided by Facebook. However, It required specific insights that can be viewed.

Currently, the AAT process is said to be working, and screen readers can now access it.
