Changing Publishing Dates will not improve Search Rankings if the content remains the same
During the Google Search Central SEO hangout held on 1st April, John Muller threw light on the topic related to changing publishing dates. He stated that merely changing publishing dates will not improve search rankings. For a change in search rankings, there needs to be a significant modification to the content.
A question related to this topic was raised during the hangout session, and Mueller shared his valuable thought. He highlights that frequently updating date and time on web pages will not impact the search results. Changing the date and time will have a positive effect only when there are changes made to the actual content.
Further, Google does not consider dates and might not even show up in the search results. The search engine giant, scraps the date since that holds no relevance to the actual content, highlights John Mueller.
