LinkedIn will be Integrating Groups into the Mobile App

LinkedIn, which had a standalone Groups app for its iOS platform, has now decided to incorporate the feature into its main mobile app for all platforms, saying “As one of our flagship products, LinkedIn is heavily invested in maintaining Groups and exploring ways to improve our member communities by fully merging Groups into the LinkedIn website and the main LinkedIn mobile iOS and Android apps”.

Linkedin is expected to merge the two by the end of this month. A few selected Groups users received this notification, including news of new features such as threaded replies and the ability to post videos. The Groups app was most likely culminated because the company found it tough to update the app regularly, and the merge should allow for regular updates as well as overall increased efficiency – with Groups activity appearing on the main app feed and the notifications tab.
