Apple has a launched a free repair program quietly, for iPhone 8 users who are facing problems like screen freezes, unexpected restarts, incorrect boot-up initiations, etc. due to an apparent manufacturing defect in logic board. These iPhones were sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, and the US,
iPhone 8 users affected in these regions can repair their devices for free if they are eligible for the program. The iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are not affected by this manufacturing defect.
Your iPhone 8 will be eligible for free repair after it is examined and verified at the Apple Service Center. You should back up your data to iTunes or iCloud before submitting the phone for repair. If there any prior damages like cracked screen, the phone needs to repaired by the owner themselves before they submit it. Also, this repair program will not extend the standard warranty coverage of the iPhone 8.
In other news, Apple is rumored to be launching new iPhone, Apple watch, iPad Pro and MacBook Air models on 12th September at the Steve Jobs Theatre at its Cupertino Apple Park campus. Reports suggest that at least two of the iPhones about to be launched will have an OLED display.
